Spoke with a T/L driver of a prostar week before last, he told me that it weighs out 200lbs more than a Pete, No thank you. Spoke with a T/L guy in Nash and his new volvo is no light weight either, max's out at 45k. The Cascadia is a great truck, Maybe some day I'll get a used one |
My last truck was a 379 Pete which people assume are heavy, based on their looks.
The company I was leased to had Volvos(small sleepers like Averitt has without the tall roof). They were actually heavier than my big ole Pete.
I loaded beer at Cartersville GA a while back and noticed the FL on the scales ahead of me was a full 1000 lbs lighter than my Volvo.
But if a company is in a position to exist on lighter freight(no beer, roll paper etc.), I would prefer a better quality truck, despite the weight difference.
