I'd rather lump tires all day on the dock, or kick 20 stops a day in the metro, than spend a week away from my home and family in a truck with another dude.

Christopher Columbus, Vasco Degama, Marco Polo, Lewis & Clark etc, didn't worry about being home and they changed the course of history.
It's a good thing we have enough Americans to fill the ranks of our all volunteer military and travel the world, being away a lot longer than the average truckdriver. Not to mention getting shot at.
On the opposite end of the spectrum we have the folks in office buildings behind a keyboard and never see the outside world for 50 hours a week.
We need those people to insure our payroll runs smoothly and our customers get billed properly so we can get paid. I don't want that job one bit, but I am thankful somebody does.
So I'm glad that man doesn't mind humping tires, because I physically can no longer do that stuff. And it's good that some fellows don't mind being awake five nights a week to insure that freight is on the street the next day.
I don't run team and enjoy the solitude of my job. If I didn't want to be away, I wouldn't be driving a truck to start with. Running five days a week in the southeast is a cakewalk compared to what I have done over the years. It's all a matter of perspective and I think we should all just do our jobs and not worry about what the other man is doing, because it all has to be done.
I appreciate all of our drivers, but I don't appreciate anybody belittling what I do or having a superior attitude.

Myself I'm never gonna frown on any working man/woman for what they do.
It's the people that can work but won't work and want to milk the gov. that I have a problem with and so does God....
