Default Brown Transport Corp.

This past week (6/4/09) I visted the terminal where it all started for me out of high school back in 1973.

The Brown Transport Atlanta terminal.....I will try to get these 7 pics on here if I can. 110 door terminal, SE Atlanta on Milton Ave.

The 4 columns came from a plantation house in Milledgeville, GA that was built in 1858 and survived Sherman's march to the sea....Mr. Brown bought them when they were taking the house down and shipped them to Atlanta for his new home terminal beiong built in 1968.

We are both old, but we are still standing after all these years!.....KK

Yo Playa!... You didn't have to "mark" the place up with all that art work while you were there!...

I worked in that shop for a short time before Brown moved us around the corner to Harriet St. (Terminal Transport's old terminal). Milton Ave. and Harriet St. was where we put the wrecks back together for Brown...

Standard spent some time there in that terminal and that was Holland's first location when they came to Atlanta. They used the far end of the dock for a short time before they moved out. If I'm not mistaken, Holland moved somewhere else for a while before they moved into Pilot's old terminal on Moreland across from Nalley...

I worked there for a short while. But, worked more over at the University Ave office. As I posted on another thread, I was fresh out of college and I worked in the Commerce Dept, which dealt with obtaining operating authority from the ICC. It was my first "real" job....

Thanks for the pics....
