Having worked in LTL, Truckload and carhaul, I can say the highest paid drivers I've ever worked with, we're car haul. Is this because they have the hardest job? The most time consuming? The most challenging? No. Is it difficult and require a bit more finesse. Yes. Is it the hardest driving job? No.

Most drivers that make over $100k a year work in the area of 90 hours a week.

the top 20 PTS drivers in the northeast we're making 6 figures working 70 hours per week. Sorry a company can not survive paying these wages as well as the exhorbitant amout of money per week they we're paying for health and welfare (about $650)

Why should the Teamsters negotiate, in good faith, a 15% pay cut for their members? To save their jobs? What jobs? I have been around a while. Seen a lot. When a company is in dire straights to the point of requesting a pay cut, it has been my observation, the company is beyond saving. Only buying time. Prolonging the inevitable. I would bet money, that this is the result of poor management. As cruel as this may sound, they are probably better off starting over somewhere else. Instead of taking the cut and wasting a couple more years, while management squanders more profits. In a couple of years they would be in the unemployment line anyway. I will never except a pay cut. I wouldn't expect Teamster negotiators to either. Teamster Elvis out....

Default 100k is too much?

sorry Jorge, Jeff Cornish Made 12 MILLION last year, im SURE he can afford to pay his drivers a decent amount.

Any DECENT company should be able to pay their drivers this amount, but the typical BRAINWASHED mentality of drivers doesn't see the MILLIONS of dollars that go into the owners and stockholders pockets.

With fuel prices the way they are, 100k a year is a decent middle class wage, it is nothing special. 30-40k a year is a joke, it is NOT middle class, it means if you have a family, you ARE POOR.

It does not matter what the company whines about, If they lowered the drivers wages, they WOULD NOT lower the price of their services.

The ends do NOT meet in that arguement. GM, Dodge, and Ford all won concessions from the uaw, have you seen the prices of any of their vehicles come down? did they hold sales or marketing events singing the benefits of wage cuts so they could out price their competition?

NOPE, the workers got ****ED. The rich get richer, and stupid rednecks keep being their cheerleaders.

and btw, your line here makes you look like you worked for pts in management, not a driver. "the top 20 PTS drivers in the northeast we're making 6 figures working 70 hours per week. NO driver would talk about how "horrible" it was for the company to shell out money for REAL benefits. but I'm sure a manager would make up a lie about how the company pays 650$ a week for each employee. Yeah right, gimme a fuc%in break.

Can you show me Where it says his salary? Typical Union Jargon.

As a small fleet owner, I can assure you that no company can afford to pay H & W and $100k per year. If you notice, the companies with the highest pay scales, keep going out of business. union carriers are at the top of the list. It started with St J and Corn Flakes and they keep dropping like flies.

Default Typical $cab jargon.....

you have the nerve to tell me that what i said was typical union jargon, yet you spew lies like this and expect people to beleive it? yeah right, you $cab.

"As a small fleet owner, I can assure you that no company can afford to pay H & W and $100k per year.

IF you are a SMALL fleet owner, HOW would you know what it would be like to own a multi-million dollar company? What YOU do is NOTHING like what PTS, YELLOW, UPS, ABF, or ALLIED do. How can you ASSURE me of anything? Because YOU can't do it?

"If you notice, the companies with the highest pay scales, keep going out of business."

Yes, because the a$$holes up top refuse to pay their drivers a decent wage. The longer people argue about how some guys make too much, instead of admitting maybe their job right now isn't so hot, the SOONER we will se schnieder and werner and us express car haulers paying their drivers .25 cpm.

So where did you get that info from Jorge?? Let me guess. My friend heard from his friend that heard from his fathers cousin that 20 guys made over 100k. If they did then they earned it because if you knew anything about union carhaulers you would know that we all make the same hourly and mileage (its called a contract). unless you work for allied then its 15 percent less
