Uniden PC 78 Elite. Tweaked a bit. Not the fanciest but I can still talk 3+ miles away and that is good enough for me. Wilson 5 ft fiberglass antenna with adjustable tip.

Connex 3300 HP, love it cause of that loud *** speaker, never need a external with this one.

i love my ranger 6900 it has been a good radio for about 5 years but now it is about to bite the dust something wrong with the board and it would be cheaper to buy a new one im thinking of getting a connex 3300 hp heard good hings about them and they are cheaper than a ranger

I have the same setup, I am pretty sure you can get 4-8 miles on 19 and 12 miles on a quiet channel.

True, I noticed last week I could hear drivers talking long before I saw them. The problem is a lot of other drivers don't have a tweaked radios, so you can't chat for long.

I am thinking of getting a Connex or a General Lee 10 m. I just bought a scanner so I guess that will wait for a while.

i run a ranger rci 2950 dx which is great for talking ssb with the digital readout only problem it lacks power so i have to run a zetagi pre amp also if i want to talk stateside i also have a galazy dx 95 t which is a home base radio i run a wilson 1000 antenna also with the ranger they work real good for me 73 s
