The Cobra 29 BC can produce over 50 watts of swing from a low deadkey.
Also they can have a mod done that will increase the receive by up to 30%.
If you have a company that is on you about the 10 meter radios then this might be a real good choice to get them off your back and still get the performance that you want.
Thats right it takes some work to get the 50 out of the radio.
Changing the final to MOSFET and doing some work in the output section to tune the radio for the new final.
With the std. clip and snip you can see 30 or so watts like most cobras.
I don't know to much about radio stuff but have heard of mosfet finals. What exactly is that, and is there different sizes? What is a correct size for the cobra 29? or would any good cb man know this and not blow up the radio.
The MOSFET is a IRF 520 or you can use the ERF 2030.
If I were at a shop and they did not know what the part was I would RUNNNNNNNNNNN...
There is more to it than changing the final.. it takes adding more components and changing some out to get the desired result.
