I don't care what anyone says. You can pick up a used 33 for under 175. Just my opinion.
There's nothing wrong with the newer 29's when worked by the proper tech.

You ask the "Proper Tech" how hard Cobra made those radios to work on and how they changed the quality of those radios. I'm sure the "Proper Tech" will know what you're talking about.

Bro, here's what I'd do... Find someone that's selling an older Cobra 29 (2 to 6 y.o.) for cheap and spend the $50 to $70 to have it turned up by a reputable tech. You just can't go wrong with an older 29. My 29 that I have in my p/u is over 25 years old and still strong.

Good post Turtle, I have had my 29 for 15 years and it works really good, Abyss, look over Galaxy's line of CB's, they have 11meter radios that I have heard are really nice, Galaxy has a real good rep in the 10 meter, their new CB's are pretty nice radios, they have the big meter which is a plus like Ricky Ricardo said, you can pick them up at the Loves, Flying J, or anywhere like that.

I think the Galaxy 959 has a big meter and I think you can pick 1 up at the truckstop for under $150. They're like the 29 but with a Freq. counter and I think talkback.
