Galaxy 929 Review

Well I have taken the time to go through a Galaxy 929 Radio and I have to tell you that it is a amazing radio with a little work.
If you want a radio that is LOUD and has POWER and is as small as the Cobra 29 then you want this radio.
I did an upgrade to Dual MOSFET's and with some circuit work this radio came to life!!
From a 2 watt dead key the radio will do 70+ watts of swing!!
(This is like having a mini Connex 3300HP or a General Lee!!)
Well that was just a great thing and then I changed some caps and other parts in the audio circuit and talk about loud and clear this radio is just awesome.
I did a swing kit and you have one talking radio.
Next I looked at the receive and it was good as it was but I thought I could make is better, so I changed some parts and improved the signal to noise and there you go and great receive too!!
On of the week points on most radios is the noise filtering and this radio is no different so I modified the power circuit and took care of that.
All this radio is missing is echo and since I hate to drill holes I took the dimmer control out of the radio and installed a Turbo Echo with a Modulation amp on the radio and that made this radio complete.
(That was not the easiest job as you have to cut a circuit board to get this done)
In the end this is one great radio and I think anyone would be proud to run it.
This radio comes in Red but it is bnot a big deal to change it out to Blue if that is you thing.
All in all you have one tough radio that will go head to head with the 10 meter radios and it will fit anywhere you like. You also get the Big Meter the you can see..
What more could you want in a radio.
