Before you go telling me that they are the same there are some differences in the radio but they are made in the same place and in the old radios they were the same, but the new radio have some differences in them. |
I am only speaking from experience as a radio user.
I have had a Cobra 148 phili made 1989 and an President Grant with all the channels and fm.
I've had these radios for so many years I would really date my self. The Grant is completely stock and the 148 only had a variable and funnies installed. I've had these radios for twenty plus years and the covers have never been off.
When the General Lee and the Connex have ridden around in my hunting truck that has been from L.A. to Montana, Wyoming, Utah and Colorado and on every off road you can imagine, still work like new we'll talk about durability.
I have never owned one of the radios your talking about but my radios have been used as base radios and in several different vehicles since about 89.
I would never say the radios you talk about aren't good radios but can they survive the test of time and abuse my radios have. When I'm traveling the truckers assume I'm a driver because they both sound so good even barefoot.
