Hey CBR I wanted your opinion on some things. I'm just trying to get in the game here, not step on anyone or get out 100 miles. I'm currently running a cobra 29 classic with a 4' MACK antenna mounted on the driver's side mirror. I don't have any other antennas on the mount, nor do I have any coils in the cable. My questions are:
1. What could I expect out of this radio? (distance, quality)
2. What antenna would you recommend? (single antenna, without amps or anything fancy)
3. Is it worth trying to work with, or should I get something else?
I set up the radio as per the Cobra manual but cannot get out past a mile or so. I have a SWF meter (Micronta with range and function switches on the front) but haven't used it yet because I don't exactly know what I'm looking for. I run foodservice, so my truck isn't anything fancy and I do often glaze trees and such when jacking around parking lots and back alleyways.
Thanks in advance,
Karl
