First off thanks for going to my site.
As for antennas you should be fine with the Wilson Antennas but I sure would have a look at the K40 Truckers they are on sale and they are the old style that are made great and they work great too.
It sounds to me like you do have an antenna issue if you were not able to hear or talk 2 miles the Uniden radio should have done that with no problems at all.
The Northstar is a very nice radio and it is priced right now. These were priced quite higher before we got a price drop.

I sent an E-Mail to a customcbradios.com. Expected a generic reply E-Mail back, so I was watching my inbox....

Guess what?!?!?!? I had a CALL. An actual phone call, and he spoke to me!!!

In this day and age, a phone cal from a actual PERSON, it's unheard of....We spoke for 15-20 minutes, and he explained me what I REALLY need.
