So are you recommending the cobra 29?

I believe what aggressor is trying to say is if you want the features buy a radio that has them instead of getting a cobra 29 then modding it out to get the features of another radio

I agree so many times I here people say I have a Cobra 29 with a connex board, super modulator, turbo echo, blue lights, etc. etc. I don't say anything but I am thinking....you could have bought a nice Galaxy,General, or a Magnum for as much as you have dumped into that radio. More or less they have a cobra faceplate with a Connex/RCI radio circuitry. But for under 100 bucks the Cobras are pretty much bullet proof!

Just my .02

I had good luck with the older cobra's, haven't had one in 15yrs, so I can't say about the newer ones
I quess one advantage of buying a less expensive radio at first and then adding say echo here or talkback there, is you could spend a little at a time, instead of all at once

what are you going to use the radio for? personal car/truck? big truck? can you leave it mounted? or is it a slip seat setup? look at the setup first, then the amount you care to invest
