On the Connex 3300 there is a small slide switch across the top that is marked "ECHO" it has to be in the "ON" position for the echo feature to work . When this is turned ON the ECHO & TIME controls will function . If this slide switch is in the OFF position : the ECHO & TIME rotary controls do nothing. THE way most techs and the factory default for most 3300's is ; when the echo slide switch is "ON" the echo & talkback both work. If the switch is in the "OFF" position ...echo & talkback are both OFF ! On the CONNEX there is no separate switch for the talkback, Unless a tech has made this change.

Hope this helps !

On my Connex 3300 there is a factory switch labeled "T.B" that allows the user to cut the talk back on or off. And there is no slide switch that you speak of. Maybe Connex changed the design over the years? My 3300 is about a year old, so I can't comment on the older design if that is the case.

Without a DOUBT ,,, they can sure make some changes on them . Thanks for the input . I had only seen the GEN. LEE with the TB switch . The Gen LEE & the CONNEX are very similar !

They are identical with the exception that the G/L has a 10k switch and the 3300 doesn't.

If you want to truely get the sound YOU want, have somebody talk while YOU sit at another radio if possible and have them adjust the echo and tone while YOU listen and then YOU will be happy with how it sounds AND you will know where the knobs are and how it sounds with them at that particular setting...Remember some of those Billy Big Riggers like that "I'm trapped in a gigantic coffee can" sound and they will have you turn it up to that because that is what they like!

All the Connex's that I have seen have a different channel set-up than the LEE's normally the LEE"S have a 6 band switch & the Connex has a three band selector w/ a HI-LO switch .

Well, last night I was messing with the controls for the echo and tone, got it sounding great, according to the guy I was talking to. That lasted for about 3 minutes and then nothing. I guess it's time to take it into the shop.

Thanks for the feedback.
