Default Connex 3300 Question

This is my 1st radio and the manual that came with it is no help. To the far right are 2 controls called E and Tone. I crank em all the way right and left and people i'm talking to say they hear no difference. Anybody know how to use these contols.

The "E" represents echo, this can be switched from the off position to on. Tone is the rate/speed of which the echo varies..Hope this helps.

Do I have to have the talkback switch to ON for the echo to work? Because I don't seem to get any results crankin those knobs. Maybe I have a bad unit.

The echo controls work despite whether your talkback is on or off. You might have something wrong. All the way to the right with the outer knob should make your voice difficult to understand at the very least.

e= echo, tone= speed of echo or reverb as some call it. Turn your tb on and your mic gain up. Do some testing and see if you can hear yourself while turning those echo/ tone knobs. If you hear no difference, I'd return the radio and get it fixed.
