Default stryker SR490HP 100+ watt

I was wondering if this radio is compatable with regular cb radio? what do they mean by amature radio's? Am I asking for trouble with this radio without having a call sign?
Please post any kind of info that will help me out.

The radio is compatible and does have regular CB channels. The radio is usually referred to as an export radio or amateur radio, due to it not being legal to run on the regular cb channels. The legal limit is 4 watts, so any radio such as this one is not supposed to be used on the regular 40 channels.

Strykers are nice radios and sound great. However, any use is not considered legal....lol. But you will be fine, and you will be LOUD. Take care!

The 490 is about as big as you can go without major heavy duty wiring too ! These pull about 25 amps if I'm not mistaken .

Well I had my Connex 3300hp out in Des Moines, Ia a couple of weeks ago and a guy said he had that radio, well by time I got to heading out on 80 west going out of town and he was going 35 north, I could still hear him talkin but he could not hear me.
Man that radio was gettin out.

I bought a Stryker 490 about 3 months ago and put it in my 2001 F150 Lightning. Pretty impressive radio.

Yes, technically it's not a 'legal' radio but many truckers use them and even more use the other export radios with their higher wattage.
