How to amp-up without frying my radio?

I have several Cobra radios that will talk 10+ miles barefoot,some 29's and some 25's.
If one needs a modulator to talk 10-15 miles,one needs to find a better radio wrench and or get a better antenna.

you won't talk 10 miles on channel 19 around here(tupelo,ms.)

that is unless you are on a base station you wont talk that far on a barefoot cobra 19
