85bluejay is on a distinguished road
Default Why is stock crashing?

I've invested a lot in Celadon only to see the value plummit in recent weeks. What is going on? Are volumes and prices down that much?

All trucking stock is down right now.Freight volumes are down becuase people cannot afford the extras because of the rising cost of fuel. One week it's $2.50 a gallon next it's $3.00. not to mention the housing market is upside down in a lot of key areas. Personally I may buy stock in a trucking company but in about 6 months I think it will hit bottom and hopefully I can buy LOW and sell HIGH a little later..Right now this econemy is in the toilet and contrary to what the ""Bush administration"" says about jobs and such it is not going to get any better until a few things change for the better.Namely the
price of crude..

Don't tell me you are now drinking the liberal Kool-aid. Could it be that the economy is in the toilet because the democrats took power over six months ago and have not done squat except raise the minimum wage so that more inexperienced workers could collect welfare??
Actually the economy is doing just fine. Not growing as fast as before but still growing at over 2%.
If you think this is bad, wait till Hillary gets elected and then we could really see a good old fashioned depression.

River I,m not buying into anything here really but if the economic factors are up %2 then why has freight declined steadily over the last 6 months or so??Freight is down all over not just LTL but truck-load also and surely you cannot say that equates to a growing economy?? What the current administration is not telling you when they hip-hip-hooray about all these new jobs are 1. they are low-pay entry level jobs...2. They neglect to inform us about all the decent paying jobs that were lost,,so I guess 20 decent paying jobs lost but 30 low paying jobs is good news?? Not hardly not when a person has to take 2 jobs to make what he once made with that one good one..
I'm not so sure the Democrats have the answers but I am very sure as I see it President Bush has none of them. This president has all but told us Americans to our face ""our opinion does not matter"".The illegal mexican issue where he stands I'd say 98% of us stand firmly against him... The Mexican carrier isuue 98% of us stand firmly against him.. The war in Iraq has been handled in a way that makes Macnamara's war look smart.. This guy has shown nothing but disrespect for the will of the people and his party in general has not shown much more than him.. I don't agree with alot of issues that the Dems support but I do feel any-one could do a better job than what has been done as of late..I do believe the Republican party is mostly about the Rich getting Richer while the poor stay poor and the middle class are shoved into poverty faster than Kellogg Haliburton official runs to the bank to cash his latest check he recieved from screwing the American people over the Iraq war..
