Hello ALL,
I just recently completed Orientation at Celadon in Indianapolis and if you're considering going to this Company, there are a few things
YOU NEED TO KNOW!!
(I did not qualify because of a new medical initiative of D. O. T.[sleepiness questionaire] and it IS NOT the fault of Celadon. They FOLLOW D. O. T. procedures to the letter)
There are from 50-100 People EVERY WEEK going through orientation. Orientation classes begin on Monday and Wednesday.
1) If you do not want to go into Canada,
DO NOT APPLY.
2) If you do not want to go into NYC or anywhere in the North East or New England States or Florida,
DO NOT APPLY.
3) If you want to select/choose your routes,
DO NOT APPLY. They do
FORCED DISPATCH.
4) If you do not want to be out a minimum of 10-14+ days before going home,
DO NOT APPLY. 1 day off for every 7 out.
5) If you do not want to pull Haz-Mat or High Risk loads (Cigarettes, etc.),
DO NOT APPLY.
6) If you do not like or cannot Log legally,
DO NOT APPLY.
7) If you do not like or cannot remain motionless (no driving around) at the SAME location for a 10 hour break,
DO NOT APPLY.
8) If you like to idle your truck for no reason or refuse to shut a truck off when away from the Unit,
APPLY ELSEWHERE. There is an Idling percentage allowance (about 36%) and crossing it incurs aggravation from Safety as well as other Divisions of Celadon.
Drivers have been and will be Terminated for excessive Idling.
9) If you're a Student driver,
apply elsewhere.
NO Trainees accepted!!
Good things about Celadon:
1) LEGAL LOGGING. This WILL BE DONE or you will be terminated.
2) Pay, Benefits, etc.
3) Equipment.
4) Maintenance-Nationwide with Wingfoot.
5) Safety-overrides everything else.
6) Canadian Loads-good for those that WANT TO GO and have been into Canada.
7) Chaining up-NOT a requirement, Driver discretion.
8) They work WITH YOU regarding Loads. If you are not able to LEGALLY Log and run it, you do not have to take it. None of the
"you have to take it or else" crud.
9) A $1,000.00 bonus for every 30,000 miles. 1 week off after the second 30,000 miles.
Conditions apply. Talk to your Recruiter.
10)International Prostar and Volvo Trucks with Clean Air Idle, no older than 3 years. Trucks swapped out at 300,000 miles CONTINOUSLY. You might be put into a International 9400i until the 300k mileage limit has been reached which might be 1-3 months.
11) Assigned equipment until mileage cap has been reached, then new assigned equipment.
If you're looking for stability and growth with a Company that is the 3rd largest in these States, look no further.
