i work for OD and based upon the purchasing history of OD , i do not believe OD would ever buy central.the equipment would have to be scrapped just based upon the comment in this string and OD already has terminals everywhere central is.since central is a privately held company now i believe it will be used as tax write offs for the rest of the Moyes empire with their declining value.i am not trying to be mean just honest as i see and read it.OD is more likely to buy a company in the WY,SD area to fill in the opening there.

All this is true but they bought Bullocks, so why would'nt they buy Central?

look at the size of bullocks ltl market.OD keep one terminal and did not buy the whole company just the LTL half.i have no clue what they paid but is must have been worth what they paid.and i as far as OD buying central it is simply my opinion nothing more.

If OD kept only one Bullocks terminal then it must of been the one in Albuquerque where I'm at.
Here in Albuquerque OD use to be on Mcleans old dock which was way to small for them. Now on the new dock that Bullocks had just built OD has a lot more room.
dmtorl let me tell you a story about OD in Albuquerque. When they first came to Albuquerque, I guess OD's higher ups were not happy with the results they were getting cause they came in and let everybody go from the terminal manager on down. For awhile OD had a local company(Rac Transport) run the operation for them.
Finally as far as OD buying Central goes, it was just a thought.

RAC is big in that area and is probably the go to company for everybody in NM and AZ.OD kept the Farmington NM terminal as a new center in the OD network. The new building in Albuquerque must have been an incentive to buy them.OD is building new buildings all of the country.Dallas just open a new building,Orlando is a year old,Wichita Falls is getting a new building and land was purchased in Las Vegas probably for a new building.as far as letting everybody go ,it is probably nothing new that has not happened before.the stories i have heard when that happens is usually because someone tried to involve a union and the higher ups have said they will shut a terminal if a union is attempted.to my knowledge it has happened at least twice since i have worked for them.a couple of months go by and they reopen the terminal with new people.what other small companies besides RAC are in the NM-AZ area that could be bought out.
