I drove for Roadway as a flamboyant uniform driver sporting their colors. Now I sport a diff. Color, Safeway!! If you’re a proactive driver and approach the industry as a team player, and not an arrogant know it all trucker you will be employable in these tough economic times. Any questions ? U- E-Mail or call, im here for the asking?

I knew Zip Bartels very well, Central had lots of colorful line drivers, one that comes to mind was Elmer Hood who squeeled like a pig when he came into a room, and sometimes drove his truck from the running board...I worked for CFL from 1971 till 2002, and then again for a year from 2003 to 2004...for thirty years you could look around you and know that you were working with the best in the industry...back then we were all loaded with pride when we said " I am with Central Freight Lines"...now I hear that some things have changed, but there are still many fine, dedicated and consciencious folks left there, but like me they are getting old and will ,one way or the other, be going away...
