Out here in Albuquerque we are still pluggin' along. 7 P&D drivers. I'm near the "top" but barely gettin' 30 hrs a week. Thought by now (almost Summer) things would have picked up but seems to have gotten worse within the last month. Was getting about 35 hrs a week since we lost Home Depot plus or minus a couple. Now is 30 plus or minus a couple. They say they are evening out the hours between us. Been trying to think of and look for something "on the side" to help the old financial situation. Had a couple 40 hr weeks in the past 6 months... used to be if you wanted a 40 hour week here you had to beg for time off!!! Times shure have changed.

I was told by the TM yesterday that there will be a 5% pay cut for all hourly employees and a 10% pay cut for all salary employees starting Monday the 25Th here in So Cal. We have just brought back to more drivers since the big lay offs after loosing Home Depot. they are supposed to bring back two more soon. freight is picking up a bit. I've been doing 11-12 hrs Monday through Friday. I've noticed a increase in New Mexico freight being picked up in the past few weeks.

I found out too about the pay cuts this week. Doesn't supprise me. I actually just finished this week with 40 hrs - the most I've had in about 6 weeks! Our terminal actually over-hired before the loss of Home Depot. When that happened, we of course we immediately reduced hours. Then three drivers left, then the economy fell out so we are still reduced. We have not really seen an up-tic in freight here yet. Hopefully soon? Lower hours, lower pay - I'm ready for some good news. Thanking God though that I have a job!!! Everyone have a great holiday weekend! OFD
