I responded to an add in the Wilmington Star News looking for drivers. I went to the Wilmington NC terminal to apply and the address given is a remote locked up terminal. A CT driver finally showed up. I got a number of the guy who does the hiring never a call back. Doesnt seem very professional in my opinion.
From what I was told, you have to go to the terminal and fill out a paper application. After that, bug the terminal manager as I am doing now. I'd love to get on at UPS or Con-Way, but Central beats sitting home doing nothing.
this place is a certified DUMP ! if not out of desperation, stay far away.
I couldnt agree more with Uniontrucka. If there is any mention of going to the Secaucus NJ terminal...stay far away from that cespool...they love wasting your time and you get nothing$ for your efforts...fork trucks with multitudes of problems that never receive attention...a mechanical shop with mechanics who are always are always just going on their break and will get to you when theyre done...a yard that rivals the moon with all the craters... leaky areas of the roof that turns the dock into a water covered ice skating rink sending everybody sliding around like theyre driving sprint cars...mty doors with the possibility to skid off the dock and get hurt...but they could care less. Theyre a complete lie when it comes to safety...they dont practice what they preach....wheres OSHA when it comes to places like this??I think I would rather be in prison than work for central transport...tuff call but you see where Im coming from.
