I don't think it's fair to form an opinion without speaking to the driver. Unless the article specifically mentioned cause, it is unfair to speculate. For all we know, someone was coming in the other direction and crossed a line, or he was cut off. Yeah, the wreck sucks, but the driver is ok, that is the priority. Everything else is replaceable, he isn't...

Everything else is replaceable, he isn't... | Given the fact that two national l.t.l. carriers were involved, the media is going to do it's best to only report general statements about what may or may not have caused this particular mishap. Speculation could be very damaging to a certain carrier. One final note is that most carrier's employees are told NOT to talk to the media. So how can the media really get an unbiased eyewitness report at the scene?

In today's litigious society, I would never talk to the media. First, they will twist what you say, and you never know what you might say that will be taken out of context, mainly because your adrenelin is pumping at a million miles an hour right after you walk away from one of these lucky to be alive.
And any other party's lawyers will figure out a way to bury you, your company and everything in sight. Better to speak only to law enforcement, let them take notes and speak to the media. Twist what a cop says, and watch how cooperative he is with you the next time you show up to sensationalize a story. Better to protect yourself...
