My father in law used to work with law enforcement by taking crime/accident scene pictures. He'd talk a little bit about some of the accidents, general information and no real details (i.e. whose fault, etc). But then the paper would have something TOTALLY different in it from what we heard from my FIL. Makes you wonder if some of those reporters have too much wax in their ears?? Last thing I'd do is talk to any after a crash.

Yeah, you can't talk to those people. They're trained to trick you and ask loaded questions. reporter: Did you do everything you could to avoid hitting the car? conway driver: I just wish I could have seen it in time. tomorrow's headline: Trucker involved in fatal accident-admits to not paying attention.

Route 15 Opens after Truck Crash

Posted: Aug 5, 2008 08:07 AM EDT

Last Updated: Aug 5, 2008 10:43 AM EDT

Route 15 is open again in part of Lycoming County.

A tractor-trailer crashed in the northbound lanes of Route 15 in Lewis Township, near Trout Run about 4:30 a.m. Police said the driver fell asleep. The truck went off the road and hit an embankment and rolled.

There is no word yet on the condition of the driver.

Traffic was detoured around the crash scene all morning.

Both lanes of Route 15 were open by 10:30 a.m.

Can any experienced driver say they have never had an "Oh S..." moment that could have ended worse? I have only been driving for 7 years, much less than the average Conway driver, and have had two instances that were way too close. One here this winter, and one while driving OTR on I80 in Wyoming.

Ahh the memories of I8o in wyoming..and nebraska and iowa..CR England left me in the northern tier for like 4 months my first winter...

One morning coming back from XLJ (gone and replaced with XNJ)..i had loaded 800# of poison gas in 6 huge cylinders in the back of my kite...while travelling through the NY State Thru Way (connects NYC with CT via I95), we were in heavy traffic travelling at about 50mph...a bread panel truck was in center lane and noticed he missed his exit and slammed on his brakes...2 trucks in front of me...every time i hit my brakes, my kite kicked out to the rightand force cars in the right lane to swerve around and i would let off the brakes to get the kite back in my lane...3rd time bam...hit the truck in front of me...

I didnt receive a ticket for rear ending the truck, and my truck had to be towed as the guys DOT bumper caved and destroyed the front portion of my hood and radiator...i would imagine impact speed was about 40 to 45 mph... i explained to the cop about the poison and i didnt want to risk a truck trying to pass me in that lane and taking the kite out and busting the cylinders open...he agreed, verified the poison, which shifted considerably,...conway charged me with the accident...i got 2 points and laughed...next time they will have to clean up a hazmat corridor and pay for it...the thinking in our safety office is stereotypical...rear end? obviously you were following too close and not paying attention...i know better i was there and was fully knowledgeable about what i was doing...
