Been pretty tough for everyone to get pto that was not scheduled at the beginning of the year. Being that you are a newer employee, I would surmise you'll have to wait till there is a week with almost no one off. My pto requests are getting rejected like damaged freight too.

I'm pretty fortunate I sit NO# 2 on the time of service list (DSR if there still is one)So the #1 guy puts in his time then I get my choice.I don't take all the holidays either.I know when I was 1st starting out I was lucky to get anything.I leave alot of time around the holidays for other people, even though the next people under me take them anyways.I figure 5 weeks soon to be 6 is plenty of time to kick back & relax.I know when we 1st started here PTO's & vac. were hard to come by.Now out here we have black out days & that adds to it harder to get time off.Now we also have to call in 10 hrs b-4 we take a pto day.It used to be 2 hrs b-4 our shift.I guess they need time to get someone to fill in.

It is getting tough here even for the senior guys, to get a day not scheduled at the beginning of the year.

You have 5 PTO days right now and probably a few vacation days from last year. You won't lose anything. If you don' take them you will be paid for them. Or they will roll over some time. You should get 2 weeks vacation starting in January.

Hi there: You mention 'soon to be six' reffering to weeks of vacation time. Just this last year I started getting 3. I can't imagine living long nuff to get
SIX! How many years of regular service do I need to get six weeks off? Yeah I'll be dead! hbj :biglaugh :
