Wow.....This is as slow as I have ever seen it. Just glad to get my eight hours anymore. I know its like this every where, just stresses ya out!! Lets hope for a better 2009.......{sigh} Good luck for the rest of the year, my fellow con-way drivers!

As the 3rd qtr. comes to a close, you will probably see more of the same. it should be slow the rest of the year.

We're definetly keeping the sub (standard) service carriers busy though. I thought we were to only use them on the empty lanes? Seeing a lot of them being loaded at service centers going to service centers that are loading to the same service centers. That's eliminated, at the very least, two runs for our own people on just that type of scenario. It's only a matter of time until we only have line-haul short shuttle runs, city p&d, and dock. Of course there will be plenty of new, not necessary, manager positions created for the friends and family members of current upper management types.

In my neck of the woods we are using less subservice right now than we were 90 days ago...a couple lanes got canceled due to service issues...

we cut 1 schedule altogether .. and it varies night to night if we cut 3 more so we can run the freight
