Default Company Policy?????

It was posted recently at a barn I go to regularly, that no one is allowed to "feed" stray animals. It states that it is against company policy to feed stray animals, and if you are caught doing so, you are subject to termination of employment with the company.......REALLY????......subject to losing my job, if I feed a stray animal? It was signed by the S.C.M. for that facility, so it must be accurate. I am going to check with my manager next time I have a chance, but is this really in the "POLICY MANUAL" ??????

I hope so. Let me explain. We had this happen at my barn a few years back. A stay dog came up and a couple of people started feeding it on a daily basis. This guy goes out to his pickup and finds this dog scratching on the side of his door trying to get in. He had just bought this pickup and was madder than hell to see scratch marks on the door. He went back in to call the pound to come get it and the same people that were feeding it got mad at him and told him that he had no right to call the pound. He told them if they would pay for damages to his pickup and any future damages that might occur they could keep it. Of course they said no and the pound came and got the dog.

So if someone throws a portion of their uneaten lunch in a trash bin & so called stray gets into trash bin, is that employee still responsible?

Put a back belt on them so they don't hurt themselves when they dumpster dive.
