I agree. Everyone could have done something different to prevent this tragedy including the cops and the conway driver. I'm sure it has ran through the driver's mind many times if he could of done something like if he had his CB on and was listening to what was going on ahead of him. With your trucks set at 62 or so and driving in a 65 mph state, he was probably listening to the stereo and never knew of the situation.

Does anyone know if he had his cb with him that night? With the slip seating going on with the oldest truck longest run a lot of drivers are getting frustrated with moving there radio box night after night,he might have been running blind!

I understand that the state of Indiana exonerated Mr. Stover of any wrong doing and placed total responsibility on the police for not taking control of the roadway. Did Conway do the same? Press on

Conway does not care what the police say in these matters. The driver will be found at fault. Pretty much since I've been here all of the safety guys are either very short term drivers or not drivers at all; hence everything is preventable unless the driver can prove to a management panel it was someone else's fault. You are guilty to proven innocent.

UPDATE:
Mr. Stover had his conference call earlier this week. He was let go. No information or follow-up is , was , or has been offered by management. Nothing. You don't ask and management won't tell.

fact is the driver failed to maintain control of his truck....if he couldn't see over the hill why crest it doing 60-62 not knowing whats on the other side??...i do feel for him and the family but this could have been prevented by the driver...the state patrol..or the guy in the car with the seatbely violation....
