some more suggestions....they have those warms at wal-mart and other sporting stores...Ones I like sit in the bootom of your boots. Look like a Dr Schools..they last 6 to 8 hours. The have hand warmers also and some with adesive. Thos peel the paper off a stick under neath clothing but not on skin. Like put it on your T-Shirt. The last awhile...Been working the dock over 20 years and tried alot of things and that seems to be the best. I also did not skimp on boots...higher the insulation rating is better but more $$$. Gander Mountain good place to start. Also some people like coveralls to keep air out and some like 2 piece Carharts...matter of choice there. Just some hints. Might be other suggestions I am sure
I always dress in layers ... dont skimp on the boots either ... insulated socks and higher rated insulated boots my make your feet sweat .... then you get wet socks and boots ... i have put bags on my feet so the boots dont get wet on the inside .... and always keep a spare pair of socks gloves ...
Try not to overdress either .... it will take you a few times to gauge what to wear with your own comfort levels
