If you will remember in the video...our illustrious leader made mention of health care costs being the biggest challenge facing America.
Its all the perception of the moment. Just like the perception thay have returned 2.5% of taken wages back to the workforce. They will tout this to the media...as to infer we are more sucessful than we really are...and no mention will be made of the increased insurance premiums...that info will stay in-house if they can manage it.
So here we are...a health survey for 'wellness' issues. And they are willing to pay you $5/weeek for the next year to attain that information. That in itself tells me they are charging $5/week too much on your insurance premiums...
First off...why only a year?
Secondly, this coincides with the yearly 'benefits enrollment' period.
Now lets add it up.
They want you to voluntarily (and we will get back to that in a moment) give up your personal and private health information. And for your efforts they are willing to give you a 'break' on your insurance. This begs the question 'why'...why do the so want this info so much they are willing to pay you for it...and lets remember the company we are talking about...the quintessential bean counters of all time.
So lets jack up the rates and offer a discount if they will reveal their health info...and the 'perception' will be a 'wellness' program.
Don't get me wrong...I am all for wellness...and God knows we need it.
But there are just too many zeros in this algorithm...too many unanswered function calls for me to buy into the 'program'
Here is my take FWIW...and it costs nothing to read.
I mentioned 'voluntarily' giving your personal and private health info to a company that as far as I am concerned has no 'right' to it.
For those of use who chose not to participate...we will pay the highest price for our 'indisgressions'...afterall how dare we not bow to the never ending intrusions into our personal lives this company insisted upon as of late.
This company is going to use this information to assess and evalute your insurance premiums...those who have 'health' issues and family histories of health problems are going to pay more than those who don't.
If this happens there are most likely legal issues involved...discrimination of some sort...these kinds of issues have been in the courts for years.
Think the obese folks having to pay for two seats in the airplane or the insurance company who denied insurance to the infant that was 'obese' by the accepted standards.
By 'voluntarily' giving up your information you will have to no legal leg to stand on regardless of perhaps proving 'misdirection' by the company to acquiring your info through subterfuge.
Those of us who refuse to participate will have some recourse...consider the average age of the DSRs and other folks in this company and you may see my point. That is why this company is pushing to damn hard for participation... no class action lawsuit based on age discrimination. Or if there is a lawsuit the participants will be few and most likely will lose considering the numbers of those who did participate.
So be prepared...if you don't participate (and I am one of those who won't) you will be one of those 'undocumented' as to your health history...therefore your premiums will go to the highest amount. Forewarned is forearmed.
I know this sounds like the ultimate conspiracy theory...but in all reality it is not...
We work for a company whose leadership takes great and stunning strides in taking things from you and then wanting you to give more...
Remember the pleadings in the video.
I am done participating in any of this company's programs...especially after the insulting 'wage return and premium increase'.
There will never be an end to it...take this to the bank...after this one is over there will something else they want...
Umm!!...nope!...not gonna do it!
