What is needed is for some of the more poorly mananged public companies to go down. Too many trucks chasing too little freight. The discounts our there are out of control. Rumors are easy to dispel when you know the fundamentals.

Sorry for delayed response, be busy selling freight, some mean streets out there! I do not know any any specifics of who offered what but they were turned down because they want to remain private. AF was a family business before Fedex bought them and their culture changed for the worse.

At one of the first driver rep. meetings I attended,(nearly 10 years ago) This topic came up. Tom Cronin himself stated that when the day came that he no longer enjoyed the freight business we would offer the company too the employee's first since they are ones who got him to were he his today.
