Kelley is the truckload division of Dayton. They do run terminal to terminal when needed but they also service truckload customers.

Thumbs up kelly

Kelly transport is owned by Dayton freight. It is the truckload division.they pick up truck load LTL freight and deliver, some times to the hubs to be broke out,and put on Dayton trucks for deliveries.I have heard they are a good company and the pay was less then us,but still good for road drivers.I have been there 7 years we are family owned and it is a good job, the best I have ever had in the LTL business.I have been in LTL for 20 years.

I have always heard that while Dayton owns Kelly, Dayton is much better to work for than Kelly. That's just the word on the street, take it for what it's worth.

Wheather or not Kelly is better than Dayton depends on how you look at it,Dayton is strickly an LTL carrier, with all that entails=90% of your miles will between 8pm and 8am,some dock work, sleeping in motels or at home during the daytime depending on what bid you have,etc.,etc. While Kelly is truckload, most of your miles are not as ridgedly set,you will have a sleeper unit so if your tired you can go off duty and sleep for what ever amount you want. You may get to a customer and wait hours (sometimes days) before loading/unloading.The Kelly pay package is competitive in the industry. Most Kelly drivers hate to pull loads for the Dayton side of company because they have to actually 'get there' on a time frame and drive all night to do it. hope this helps
