Smile Does anyone know about Dayton using pup trl

Out here in KCY I see almost 99% of the P&D is done with 48-53 footers. Having run P&D in KC an MO there are places you can barely get a 28 foot pup in without some work. Do they just not take that frt or do they make some other arrangements. So what's up are they to cheap to buy pup trls or have such huge accounts that they need OTR vans for work. Just asking.

Thumbs up

I have worked for Dayton for nearly 10 yrs.. there a few cities were we have short trls.,42-45 ft. or so. chicago, milw, mps-stp,cincy,clev.., etc. also have a straight truck or two for tight places. Corp. has taken the decision decades ago that Dayton will not pull pups. It's not that they are cheap, it's just too much time running back to the service center with a full pup while doing P&D. If KAC needs a straight truck, it's up too the service center manager to ask for one.

Default That's odd

I have worked P/d for a couple of companys in the past and I not had to return to the terminal to get rid of a full pup. If you had a full pup you where done for the day. I guess KC must not have many drivers to have to use that type of OTR trls. Anyway just asking. Thanks for the info.
