Default Employment

Hello everyone.

Question will Dayton freight hire. Driver that are laidoff or have'd resigned? City P@D drivers. Applied at the Gahanna ohio terminal.

Reason i ask me and 2 other ex-teamster drivers from Yellow. Applied for City and all of us were told no..

Now all of us meet or exceed there hire in requirements. And all we were told was nothing on our application. Was the reason just there personal preference.

Now one of us has a non-union driver friend that applied. And is personal qualification were no better than the rest of us. And he was hired over us.

We all say this is . Sounds like a case of discrimination to all of us.

I'm not there to talk union-non union shop. Or to organize there men. Just trying to work and pay the bills and keep my good credit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So is this common pratice at this company or what. I have heard this company is a good one to work for. And just trying to get on board. I was going to ***** and say.

Is it because we are white!!!!!!!!!!

I started to date an attorney. Who handles employment laws. And i'm about to have her make a phone call. To the HR manager there and find out what the problem is.

Not just saying no to 1 man but 3 come on. And hire the non- guy. Something fishy here.

Sorry for the Peace....

To me, there is a difference between an 'ex-union' driver, and a union driver that is 'laid -off'. I know several former CF divers that Dayton has hired over the years. There are a few former Holland drivers around the system, but it's my impression they left Holland years ago on their own. For any company to hire an employee while they are on lay-off , the company is betting that you will leave as soon as you may be called back. Not that this anything against you personally, but it would signal to me if I was in the HR dept. that this potential employee will bolt at first chance.

Aikidostudent,

I don't want to sound mean, but I had a hard time following your message. If you filled out your application and had as many spelling errors or improper grammer as you had on your thread I could see maybe why you were not hired. Just my opinion.
