    Default Made in Mexico

Has anybody seen any made in Mexico Freightliners yet ? There are 1 or 2 plants in Mexico now and another opening around the first of 2009.A while back they laid off 1500 workers in N.C. and some up north I think.I just wondering how much of the tractor will have a south of the border flair.

We had some FLD's at USF BESTWAY that were made in Mexico in 2002 or 2003. They had a problem with the paint peeling off the cab,the same annoying rattle around the right side door, and they all pulled to the right shoulder at noon for a siesta.

They just cut over 2,000 jobs in N.C. at about the time the Mexican plant is supposed to start up.

    Default Freightliners made in Mexico

Freightliner has had factories in Mexico for a number of years now. I was shop foreman at the Corpus Christi, TX Freightliner dealership when one of these plants opened.

That was a mess. We had to do multitudes of repairs on lead FLB truck tractors in shipment from that factory as well as the towed FLB trucks.
