Question How long can a cummins engine run without pm being done

Theres seems to be a big problem with trucks not being pm when they are suppose to be. What system is there for keeping up with trucks needing to be serviced?

The rear ends work harder than the motor. With regular oil they are recomended to change at 100,000 miles. Full synthetic is 250,000 miles. I've known folks to just replace oil filters and never change the engine oil. These service due date are just playing it safe. imho. No need to hit the panic switch when the due date is near. As long as the oil remains slicker than owl thats all that matters. Like donut says.. Just give her a onceover and get in and go. That's one of the bene's of being a company driver. The headace belongs to someone else.

it will run till all the oil leaks out and the fuel filter doesnt stop up.you would be amazed at the amount of junk in underground fuel tanks that make it to the filter.that will probably be your first problem noticed.also as the financial health of your company and hence your job depends on keeping costs (read.maintenance) low ,why dont you jog someones memory driver and get yer truck serviced.

Like FRAM ads say: Pay me now, or pay me later......
Forklift shops say: They don't get well by themselves....

PM's replace large, expensive, time consuming repairs with regular, scheduled, managed service intervals.
That is why the "man who handles the headaches get paid very well."
Question: How many posters follow the maintenance schedule on their personal vehicles?
