I'm ready to leave too....what else is out there?
I've finally been on a bid that works for my family for about 3 years now. I do dock work in the AM (which I don't particularly like) then run volume city runs during the late morning/early afternoon...and am usually off before 5PM. The hours suck...the work sucks...but it works for my family. Now...they are eliminating my bid and forcing me back to a peddle route.
I am so tired of working for a company that puts no value on the employee or their family. This place wasn't always this way, but since Fedex has taken over...it has been rolling downhill and picking up speed fast!
I am thinking about applying for a grocery driver, and a Pepsi driver position. Both work really early in the AM, and are done in the early afternoon. Anybody have any experience with these kinds of jobs?
I really hate to leave after 11 years...but feel as though this is never going to get better. It has been only getting worse for the past 7 years. I like my job...I am fairly happy here overall (pay, benefits, etc), but the working hours keep getting worse, making it more and more difficult on my family life. I have tried to take advantage of our education programs (specifically the sales apprentice), but when a sales position opens, I am not even considered for it. Not even an interview or a phone call, and they hire somebody from the outside.
I'm at my wits end
