Default Maybe...

they are going to say, "We have done much research and we've decided that we are going to load trailers to destination and have the drivers drive to those destinations.

We regret that the mileage may be increased and we will be able to service direct service points by loading pure loads instead of running them through other terminals that only result in the delay of freight.

We apologize to the drivers who will now be unable to work the dock since the time it takes to get to these other terminals will not let them be able to work the dock. We're sorry, but they will be required to drive. There will be no argument in this area. Deal with it.

We recognize that this will create a hardship upon our valued drivers and we are going to increase the per mile rate to 60 cents a mile to compensate for their hardship.

Please be aware that in these times of economic downturn, we all have to make sacrifices. In this vein, we have decided to allow those that wish to become full time dockworkers so that they have a vested interest of learning the job and learning it well. We have decided that in the face of staggering truth, we will offer benefits to our dock workers so that they can feel more engaged and offer them an incentive to show up everyday and do the best job they can. While the industry goes the way of part time help, which we find can only hurt productivity, we will chart our own course on the hope that good pay, good benefits, and respect will entice workers to give more than they usually would say, to a fast food place.

We know that this is off the chart. We know that we will receive many letters of are you guys crazy. What we will say is, yes, crazy like a fox. We have determined that with a work force that wants to come to work, that is treated like adults and valued for what they bring to the table, we will fly in the face of everyday corporate America. We firmly believe that we will reap the benefits that a truely engaged workforce can offer us. We feel that this is the cheapest route to true production benefits and overall customer satisfaction when our employees aren't bad mouthing the company as the customer unloads damaged freight.

We feel the time is right. We feel the time is now. Please.....will you join us?"

(Probably not)
