For the road I'm sure its the morning of new years eve and not new years eve night into new years day.

I heard about that last night as well. After asking a few more questions of people I trust, I was told it was a "trial balloon" sent out to feel out drivers for their reactions.
My take on it is, how can a company that preaches safety time and time again send us out on the road on the number one ADULT party night of the year.
I think they are trying to see how pissed off they can make us before they backpeddle.
