Default layoff question ?

Climbing the hill toward the house this morning I got ask on the CB radio ... er told by another LTL company driver (don't know which company, it was dark and he did not answer who) that our 90% for 90 days was killing them. and they were laying off a 1,000 people ...anybody know anything ?

talked with a local Conway driver Friday south of St. Louis where we both run and he said our 90% deal was killing their Ill. freight, both p-u and del. I acted like I didn't know what he was talking about, while all along I was trying not to bust out in a big ol grin---

guys, there is no 90% thing. We are getting this info from customers asking us about it because they have other ltl carriers telling them that we offer it. We dont offer it.

FR8SALES

Something doesn't add up.
Why would our competitors tell their customers
that FedEx Freight will haul their freight with a
90% discount to either lose the customer or to
then later have this same customer upset that
the salesman from the other carrier was not
telling the truth the first time.

well ... as a line driver and not a city driver I don't get the preshifts that explain the rates ... that was the first I'd heard the 90/90
all I know is that I got hammered ... he seem real unhappy ... I just wanted to know about the layoffs, if any, and what company it might have been.
