Default Thank You Harrison!

I just wanted to take a moment to extend a big fat THANK YOU to Harrison.

I want to thank you for all the overtime. I want to thank you for making a dispatcher's job even more difficult. I want to thank you for p*ssing off customers because they can't track their freight. I want to thank you for the hilarious loads that show up in PT trailers.

Ye had a PT trailer show up around 11:30 yesterday morning. Over 4 hours late. At least he got here. Wonder what the OT percentage was for Friday. It was so bad even our SCM was in dispatch hovering.

But in these tough times, the OT is welcome. Yeah, we used to get late freight, but at least we had some idea of when it was going to get here so we could plan. We would have trailers set up and the freight would be loaded stop for stop to give the drivers a chance of getting it all off.

Not now. Now we can just have a 53' bomb dropped on a SC at anytime, and have to deal with the mess it makes.

Apparently cleaning up a mess is much more desirable than avoiding it in the first place, or at least limiting it as much as possible. Better to put out a fire than take the matches from the child before he starts one.

Nice job Harrison. You should be proud.

Now that all the dispatchers are happy, I would like to add the line drivers to the good job Harrison list. We love working the dock, and watching the local drivers make turns. Can't wait until the next company survey comes out so I can express my appreciation. TP

Twice Pipes

So did anyone ever explain to you why they would send a city driver on a turn run, and why they want you to sit behind that forklift.????
I thought that a city driver's CDL would be just as good as a road driver's CDL to operate a forklift.

try running a city operation when the last inbound arrives at 11. Hey, I've got a great idea........let's layoff a few more guys and see how that works!!! Seems like we haven't layed off enough, huh?
