If extra board is exhausted and there is one extra run left. Normally dispatcher ask shortest bid driver if he wants the bigger run. If the bid driver does not want it can dispatcher start using city drivers or does he have to offer it out to more road drivers with less miles than the extra run? The supervisor told me he helped to make the transportation manual policy and he was very adamant in saying that with one extra run he only had to offer it to one roaddriver and if he didn't want it he could use a city driver. I don't know about you guys but that makes me very angery that a city driver can take a 500plus run away from a roaddriver. Thats money out of the pocket of a roaddriver!
