Driver you should talk to some of freights people about Fed Ex the old WML people are still in limbo trying to figure out what is going on. That what I'm reading anyway. I left WML before the buyout.

What's FedEx National like? In a word SLOW. We've given up some bills to Freight and haven't got much of anything in return. This, compounded with a slow economy during the slowest period of the year means it's slim pickens right now.

However, the future does look bright. The power of the FedEx brand and the fact that long-haul is our niche and we do it cheaper and more efficient than other companies means we're gonna grow over time. At one of our weekly meetings, our TM said that FedEx forecasts a doubling of our current size in 5 years or so.

One thing is that our seniority policy absolutely, positively sucks. There's no start-time bids at our barn and city guys with less seniority are driving nicer trucks and clocking more hours than guys at the top of the totem pole. I mean, really, why not just send an engraved invitation to the Teamsters LOL? Oh well, that's life at FedEx National...

I know that on the Dock seniority means absolutely NOTHING other than how much Vacation you accrue. We have 1 year dock guys working OT while senior guys are told to stay home. This is called DTO (Directed Time Offf). If you kiss managements arse and buy them lunch- you work. If they dont like you -you stay home. I dont even know why they have a seniority list when it is NEVER followed the way it is supposed to be.

tundra, we must be working at the same center. seniority means absolutlely nothing in the city. cannot bid on routes, start times, tractors, nothing. but like the man said, if you,re on the good ol boy list, you can set your own scedule.
