Anyone else have to peddle freight in/through the ghetto? Today I was sitting at a stoplite and this bum comes right up to my running board and asks me for some money. I told him hey why don't you get a job they're looking for guys down at my barn to work the dock and they'll even train you for a cdl. He said I don't want no job I want money. I said sorry I'm not giving you any. He said well #### you and then he gave me the finger. Then another guy standing on the corner said FedEx? Man, the federal government ain't done nothing for me. Last month some kid of the local color threw a rock at my truck. BAM!! It hit the side of the trailer I thought somebody was shooting at me.
The TM sold me down the river on this run. Oh this is a real good route, driver. Lots of stops and it'll keep you busy all year round. Come to find out that none of the senior guys would touch it with a 50-foot pole. Seems like last summer the contractor who used to run this route got shanked during a liftgate delivery.
Anyone else got a run like this? Just wondering how some of you more experienced guys deal with it. Thanks.
