Heard this week that the benefit package will be changing from a PPO to a Cafeteria Plan beginning the first of the year. This is great news for all of us. If you dont know how this works it goes like this. Say FedEx gives you $100 benefit dollars to spend on your plan. They will offer you a PPO, HMO,Blue Cross, Kaiser, as well as a dental and a visual plan(or something like this). Each of these choices will have a dollar value to it. You go down the line picking what benefits you want. Depending on your needs you may have enough fedex dollars to pay for all your coverage if not you will have the balance deducted from your pay. I have had a hmo for 30 yrs and I opted out on that Atena thing. The 80 bucks fed ex pays me to not take it pays for the beenies from my wifes plan and buys us a dinner every month. Cant wait to see this new plan
