Normally I would agree, and I am not into politics, but with this administration I could see the change being made..... so get ready to

A good compromise would be to stay the 11-hour rule but mandate universal EOBR's for all Class 8 rigs.

That would make sense huh? Reduce drive hours and force co's to either rework their systems or raise the speed of their fleet to make current runs in less hours, sounds safer to me, lol.

IMHO this is a gift to the teamster higher-ups from Obama. Require the union company's(and all company's weather union or not) to hire more drivers to move the same amount of freight(more paying dues to the teamsters). Thus costing the company's more(because company's are evil). Also that this is a suttle shot at the FEDEX corporation for being no-union. Although this may very well put the final nain in the coffin of YRCW if mass rehiring is needed just to be compliant.

Public citizen, and MADD, just to name a few need to leave us alone. Its not us that set the hours to work. If they want to do some good, then go after all these shippers and recievers and co that abuse the rules. If they want to see change, then start making everybody punch a time clock and make them pay you for all on duty time. And I bet you see some big changes.
