Question What of "Drivers Solutions"

I'd like to obtain my CDL-A because I quit my last job (Apartment Maintenance rip-off deal) can't get WIA. Have spoken with this group of companies Representative is talking working for USA Transport is this a reputable program or not?

Beginner,
Welcome to Truckingboards. My advice would be to go to an LTL Company rather than a Truckload Company. Or, if you go to a truckload outfit get a years experience and then go to an LTL.....that's where the money and good benefits are. Best of luck to you. LTL Companies are Yellow, Roadway, ABF, Holland, FedExFreight, Conway, Old Dominion, etc.

Hmmm, are you collecting Unemployment? Not sure if you get it when you quit. But if you do, most states under their re-employment plan will retrain you. One of those things is getting your cdl, free of charge. You should look into it.

serta,

No I'm not getting unemployment because in Michigan if you quit the state determines if you'd good reason to (pretty damn one-sided). The company I worked for was trying to unload the property and wouldn't even buy parts (they expected me to go out buy a Saws All and cut out one door section to replace the bashed in lock area of a jam on a Section 8 apartment enough was enough. I'd been hanging on waiting to get laid off but it wasn't going to happen any time soon (buyer expected them to get occupancy rate up to 90%).

stldude44,

I'd go to anywhere but I need CDL first.

Well, for that you'll have to go to some school. In many cases a truckload Company will pay your way but then you have to work for them for a year or so. If you quit the school payment will be billed to you.

best place to get a cdl imho is schneider. no cost up front at all (infact they pay you a few bucks so you can at least eat), first rate training. best part is if you stay a year, you owe them nothing. if you leave before then, you have to pay them back, not sure what the current amount is tho. i worked there for about 8 months, then got into con-way, then NEMF. check them out at Schneider National - Home page . good luck.
