Roadworthy is on a distinguished road
Default allley doc backing

I have just failed my skills test on alley doc
backing. I just can not figure this manuever
out. I have attemped this about 20 times
but still cannot control the trailer between the white lines. I only get two more chances
before I have to buy a new permit. I need
more practice but my school has so many students, they don't have much time for me.
If any of you live in Northern California, and
have a tractor & van trailer for me to practice with, I will trade you some drive time
for the lessons. I don't have any trouble driving, parallel parking or backing-up but this
alley doc has my pea brain baffeled.

Just tell the instructor that you plan on getting a job where you go forward only and never plan on backing into an alley way.
Just kidding.Gets lots of practice. That is the only thing that helps.

get a pickup and boat trailer and practice with cones only using your mirrors same principle, the boat trailer will get away from you faster but this will help you

Roadworthy,

I had the same problem, and found that my set up was all screwed up. If you get your set up nice and straight or at least away from the side that's giving you problems, you should be able to control the trailer better. Remember, don't oversteer, it'll take the trailer a little while to respond to your steering input - usually around 8 - 10 ft.
