Default The Best Local Truckstops

We had this thread a couple years back and it was very popular, so I thought I'd bring it back. I'm going to stick this thread on top of the forum for a while. I have found many new Ma & Pa local truck stops and I' like to share them with you guys. I would like to hear your favorites as well. Maybe I could make up some sort of locator for them. Between running teams and running the extra board I'm alway running new roads and always looking for those unique out of the way local truck stops. I am not a fan of francised truck stop or as there called today, travel centers.

My first entree is a local truck stop in Ohio. It's located between Columbus and Akron on I 71. Off exit 165. It's on the westside of I 71. The name of it is "The Dinner Bell" but the only sign outside you'll see is a sign saying "Restaurant". There is enough parking for maybe 8-10 trucks. Drive past the restaurant to the second entrance and drive around in the back of it. There a group of locals that sit in the first couple table that heckles the waitress and their funnier then hell. You won't find a coffee mug in there that matches another but they make a mean omelette with about 2 pounds of hash browns with 4 pieces of toast for 5 bucks. Stop in there enough and she'll remember your name. If you stop in there to much you'll get a nickname from them locals.Try them out if you get a chance.Who's next ?

Snowshoe Truckstop, Showshoe, Pa. Off of old exit 22 or exit 147 on I 80. It's on the north part of the exits. You come up to the stop sign and drive straight through into the parking lot. There is always parking and there is a lot of threw parking for doubles. The parking lot is on a hill so if it's icy you might want to park down the hill. Good food and decent prices. If I'm going to NY or NJ it were I take my nappy.

East Park, Ravenna Oh. My local family owned Truck Stop. It's on RT 14 on your way to Cleveland from the east. It has parking in the back. They have a Paul Bunyon burger that pretty good. This is how old these place is. My Grandfather use to go there when he was a young trucker. It's that old. He said that RT 14 was the major way to Cleveland before there was the interstates. RT 14 is RT 52 in PA. The same 52 that runs through Pittsburgh.

Cool Iron Skillet

The Iron Skillet over here in Vegas off the I-15, right before you hit the Speedway is pretty good. Good buffet too, its not that nasty dried up heat lamp kinda food if ya know what I mean....
