Default Swift drivers

Are there any Swift drivers out there? I got hired on Jan 24th and I'm still waiting for an instructor/mentor to get hooked up with.
I got my CDL on Jan 19th and have to go through a 6 week training thing with Swift.
I guess I better get used to the hurry up and wait thing, huh?

I really don't want to be that guy to bash the company you are just hired at, but I have to warn you. While i have never worked for them, I've heard MANY bad things about them. On top of that the pay is really lacking for the sacrifice you make. My suggestion is to look into one of the many LTL (less than a truck load) companies out there, they pay better and many of them you are home every day. The company I work at (mid-states express); we are home every day, and it's not uncommon for a new driver with no previous experience to get 50k the first year.

I have read many forums on Swift. I have heard many things about Swift. It got to the point that with all the Swift bashing that I had read, and heard. I wanted to talk to some Swift driver's to hear what they had to say.
While doing my local deliveries, I come across several Swift driver's. I just asked them what Life at Swift was like?
Most of the replies were very positive. two people said they needed experience to make it with a higher paying company. One guy just said "no comment" And while they all have there own opinion of Swift, they all said that the staff they dealt with during orientation, and training with there mentor. Were very nice, and polite.
I have never driven for, or had any type of dealings with Swift, and I developed a tainted opinion about this company.
So, for all those people out there that have chosen to enter into the ranks of Professional truck driving by way of Swift. I salute you, and wish you the very best of luck.

Congratulation on your new job and new career. You might have a hard time finding a Swift truck driver here because this is an LTL message board. Swift is OTR company. You can try here probably with better results.

Trucking Forums Message Board, Truck Drivers Forums - :: View topic - Swift Transportation - Swift Driving Academy (Lewiston, ID)

Good Luck with your new career.

Class A Drivers is likely your best bet for OTR.

This board is all about LTL.

Hey I was wondering if mid states is hiring i retired recently and am sick of sitting around all day i am 23 and have 2 years of solid driving experience. I just sold my company a month ago and went to work for a buddy of mine for a couple of weeks and have been unemployed for almost a week now and getting tired of it. how do i go about getting a job with mid states? what do they pay? whats the equipment like? whats the hometime like? I live in western virginia would prefer if its an OTR position to run to the north central reigon but also be home as often as possible while making money. But if something is good i will take it. my e-mail is kjohnsontransport@yahoo.com if you could e-mail me back i would appreciate it. P.S. I have a buddy that worked for Swift he said it was the worst mistake of his life. thanks. Kris Johnson
